- We want a new website. How does the process work?
- Step 1: Domain Name (example: www.your-business.com)
If you already have a Domain Name move to Step 2. If you need a Domain Name, it can be purchased from
Go Daddy. Find and register a unique name for your business or personal use.
- Step 2: Website Host
Once you have a Domain Name, you will then need a Host for your website. If you already have a Host simply provide us the FTP information. If you need a Host, there are hundreds to choose from, including Larson Arts.
- Step 3: Site Design
Choose a look or design for your website
We will design three unique looks for your new website. If you like one of the three, we will move forward - if not we will design more, and so on, until we create what you are looking for.
- Step 4: Site Creation
Once a Home page design is selected, we will begin the animation process and move forward with interior pages. We ask that you provide all images and text in a digital format.
(At this stage we require a 25% deposit of total cost.)
- Step 5: Site Completion
All pages will be posted for proofing. Once everything is approved, your new site goes live.
(Once the site is live on the internet, the full balance becomes due.)
- How long will a new website take to build?
Honestly, a big part of the process is how quickly we receive the content and/or approval of proofs. Generally, if we have all the pieces, it roughly takes 2-3 weeks from start to finish depending on the size of the site. Larger sites take longer.
- What is included in your website package?
Includes web pages, flash animations, web optimization of all images, internal and external links, custom style sheet, asp and cold fusion coding, custom interactive map, forms, and search engine registration. Domain registration and hosting fees are not included in the standard website package.
- Do you have a standard fee for website?
We do not have a standard fee as we do not do plug-and-play websites. Each website is unique and will therefore require a custom quote to suit your needs. Our quotes are based on number of pages/content and complexity. You will always be provided a quote to approve before any work begins.
- How much do additional pages cost?
Additional pages begin at $195. Price will vary depending on level of page's complexity.
- What are your maintenance fees?
Web updates are billed at $40 an hour. Most changes take an hour or less. There is a minimum charge of one half hour.
- How are updates made? Can we make them ourselves?
We use the latest in web technology to build new sites. Unless you have adequate knowledge of web technologies, we do not recommend updating yourself. Most text changes can be done by Larson Arts for the minimum half hour or $20. Simply email requested changes and they will be live on your site within 24 to 72 hours.
- Do you offer hosting?
We can offer hosting for sites that we build. In essence, Larson Arts is a friendly internet landlord that rents out website real estate. We provide space for your site plus security, power and reliability. With 99.9% up time, your site will virtually always be available for users around the world.

Includes: 200 MB of disk space
Disk space is the maximum amount of storage space that you have available to upload pages to your Web site. These pages will be stored on your Web server. The amount of storage space that the pages occupy is measured in megabytes.
20 GB data transfer
When a visitor downloads information from your Web site, data is transferred from your site to that person's computer. Data Transfer bandwidth is the total amount of data that can be downloaded from your Web site each month. The amount of data transferred is measured in gigabytes.
CGI script support
CGI (Common Gateway Interface) allows your Web pages to interact with applications (or "scripts") that you've uploaded to your Web server. CGI programs are useful for creating dynamic Web pages with features like page counters, Web-based bulletin boards, and sophisticated Web form handling.
PHP
PHP is a scripting language that lets Web developers build dynamic content into Web pages. PHP is used in a UNIX development environment in the same way that ASP scripting is used in a Windows development environment.
ASP.NET support
ASP.NET is a unified Web development platform that provides services for developers to build enterprise-class, dynamic Web applications.
- What is File Transfer Protocol (FTP)?
File Transfer Protocal, or FTP, is a way to send large files via internet that are otherwise too large to email. These would be file sizes in excess of 5 MB.
Larson Arts has its very own FTP server if you need to send us large files. Simply visit Our FTP Site and upload your files.
Additionally, FTP information would give us access to upload your new site if we are not hosting.
- If I choose Larson Arts as my host, what is the process?
There are two major steps to completing this transaction. First, we will need you to access your domain registrar (such as Go Daddy or Register.com) and input the new DNS numbers we provide you, or if you prefer, you can provide us log-in information for your registar and we can do this for you. Then we set things up on our server to Host your website. That's it!
- How do I set up my new email address?
- Can you handle our email marketing campaign or newsletters?
Larson Arts can design and build your email newsletters; however, we do not create, maintain or in any other way deal with databases.
- Do you offer Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
We will make every effort to make your site as search engine friendly as possible. This includes the coding of "Keywords". These are the words search engines use to classify and list your site. You will provide these words which should be specifically related to your business. We can asist you in the creation of this list. We also add a line of code that has the search engine revisit periodically to see if anything new has been posted.
- Can you help improve my websites ranking in search engines?
Not really. There are several criteria which affect ranking on any given search engine. One is the number of years you have owned the domain name or URL. Five or more is better. Larger sites rank higher most of the time with 30 plus pages. Another, and possibly most important criteria, is inbound links to your site from other sites. The more sites that link back to yours the higher your site is listed in a given search. There are services that claim that they can increase your ranking but none we can recommend.
- Do you do newspaper and magazine ads?
In a word hellyeswecan! Print design is actually our claim to fame. We can design just about anything you may need. We've done hundreds of ads in local and regional and national newspapers and magazines. We can design your ad and send it to you, or the publicatoin of your choosing.
- Do you design logos?
We certainly do. Identity development is another one of our specialties. Please browse our Work section to see examples.
- Can you get my materials printed?
Yes. We have connections with printers across the country and can get just about anything printed. Often we can save you enough on printing to actually cover our design fees. Professional design coupled with professional printing.
- Do you take credit cards?
We now accept all major credit cards via PayPal. If you would like more information about this process, please use our contact form.
- Do you offer package deals?
Yes, if you have a number of different projects we can offer you a package deal to encompass your needs.
